coached by Bob Dill edges Ideal Pizza in a hard fought contest that
went down to the wire. With a three point lead and four seconds left
Zach St. Amant converted two big free throws to ice the game for the
Shoppers.. Leading the way was Chris Dill with 14 points, Brendan
Fitzgerald with 8 points and Matt Fish with 8 rebounds. Jake
Tousignant, coach for Ideal Pizza had his team ready and playing hard
for the entire 32 minutes of action. Kenny Paulhus once again came up
huge with another 20 point effort. Josh Turbesi contributed 9 rebounds
and 5 points. The game started with Park-N-Shop jumping out to an 8
point lead behind the stellar defensive effort by Gregg Millette.
However, the Pizza Boys fought back to tie the game by halftime at 13
points apiece. Ideal Pizza continued their surge by taking a 5 point
lead early in the final session. Michael Howard came up with a big
steal, Chris Lamoureux sparked several fast breaks as Ideal Pizza was
taking control of the game. Park-N-Shop's repeated efforts to close the
gap was stunted by the fine defensive play of Matt Spampinato and Peter
Archetto. However, Park-N-Shop's due diligence started paying off as
shots began to fall in. The score see-sawed back and forth for most of
the last 10 minutes of play as the crowd sat on pins and needles with
every move. Finally in the end Park-N-Shop prevailed claiming the
coveted Landry Trophy as Champions of the BMYBL Division Two title game.

Knights of Columbus 12
Ideal Pizza advances to next week's championship game with a lock down
defense in a game against the Knights of Columbus. Kenny Paulhus
scored 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead Ideal to the
triumph. Others helping out were Chris Lamoureux with 6 points
and 5 steals and Peter Archetto with 3 steals. The Knights were
led by Raymond Thibeault's 6 points and David Kwasny's 4 points and 2
steals.

Thrifty Discount Liquor 22
Park-N-Shop has made it to the championship game by pulling away from a
determined Thrifty team in the second half. Leading the balance
attack was Greg Millette with 10 points and 9 rebounds.
Also contributing to the victory was Chris Dill, Brendan
Fitzgerald and Matt Fish all with 8 points. Matt also pulled down
7 rebounds. Keeping things close for Thrifty Discount Liquor
was Matt Nordquist with 12 points and 5 rebounds, Dustin Jacobs
with 8 points and Corey Pollock with 5 boards.
Championship game will be played by Ideal Pizza and Park-N-Shop at
9:00AM at the Hartnett Middle School this Saturday March 15th.

Thrifty
Discount Liquors continued their hot streak by beating First Place
Park-N-Shop 37 to 30. Helping Thrifty even up their record at 4-4-1 was
Dustin Jacobs with 13 points, Corey Pollock chipped in 10 points and
Matt Nordquist came away with 2 steals. Keeping the contest close for
the Shoppers were Greg Millette with 11 points and 6 rebounds, Matt
Fish with 7 boards and Brendan Fitzgerald with 3 steals.
Ideal

moves into a first place tie after beating back the Knights of Columbus
31 to 15. Kenny Paulhus finished with a hard earned 20 points and 2
assists. Making contributions for the Knights were Allen Buteau with 7
points and 2 assists, David Kwasny with 7 rebounds and Joe Angilini
pulling down a game high 10 rebounds.

Thrifty
Discount Liquor's Matt Nordquist had the finest all around game of any
player this season to lead his team to a convincing 43 to 11 triumph
over Ideal Pizza. Matt led all scorer's with 17 points, he also pulled
down 13 rebounds to go along with his 6 assists, 9 blocked shots and 5
steals. Helping Matt was David O'Connor who dropped in 12 points and 3
assists. Dustin Jacobs also hit double digits in points with 10 to go
along with his 3 steals as Thrifty had contributions from their entire
team. Ideal Pizza was led by Elijah Tousignant's 7 points and 6
rebounds. Thrifty Discount Liquors improved their record to 3-4-1 with
the victory.
Park-N-Shop
moved into first place with a stunning 24 to 7 thrashing of the
Knight's of Columbus squad. A great team defensive effort was aided on
the offensive side by Greg Millette's 13 points. Chris Dill and Brendan
Fitzgerald both had a couple of steals apiece. The Knight's were held
in check all game but David Kwasny was able to pull down 5 rebounds.
Park-N-Shop record improves to 6 and 2.

Park-N-Shop
won a hard fought battle against Ideal Pizza 26 to 20 to move into a
first place tie. The Shoppers were led by Chris Dill's 9 points, Matt
Fish's 12 rebounds and Gregg Millette's 12 rebounds. Brendan Fitzgerald
controlled the offense with his nifty passing. Ideal Pizza's high
scorers were Josh Turbesi with 8 points and Elijah Tousignant with 6.
Josh also hauled down 7 rebounds.
In
the second
game Thrifty Discount Liquors moved into third place with a hard fought
24-20 victory over the pesky Knights of Columbus squad. Mr. Everything,
Matt Nordquist poured in 16 points to go with his 6 rebounds. Padraig
Shaw helped the cause by dropping 6 points on the Knights. Andrew
Beauregard played terrific defense as his 3 steals attest to. K of C
was not without shining stars of their own. A big game from big man
David Kwasny 10 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals help keep the game
close to the end. Steady Ray Thibeault had another solid game with his
8 points and 5 rebounds. Joe Angelini pulled down an impressive 8
rebounds in the contest.

victory. Leading the way was Greg Millette with 12 points and

and 4 steals. Thrifty made it an exciting game with the play
of
Matt Nordquist who led all scorer's with 19 points. Dustin
Jacobs
had 7 points and 4 rebounds while Corey Pollock hauled in 9 rebounds.

victory was a total team effort with all five players recording
points. Matt Fish contributed 4 points, 5 rebounds and 3
blocks. Brendan Fitzgerald chipped in with 3 rebounds, 3

and 5 steals while Chris Dill added 4 points and 3 steals.
Helping K of C keep the game tight was Allen Buteau, David Kwasny and
Joe Angelina all with four points. Ray Thibeault contributed

game ended up in a deadlock after a hard fought sudden death overtime
failed to determine a winner. Leading the charge for the Pollock team
was Matt Nordquist with 8 points, 5 blocks and 4 steals. Corey Pollock
chipped in with 4 points as did Dustin Jacobs. For Buteau's team
Raymond Thibeault contributed 8 points and 2 steals, David Kwasny added
4 points, 9 rebounds and Joe Angelini muscled his way to two points and
7 rebounds before fouling out.
